Support Force Multiplier's Flip the Districts: NY!
A partnership between Force Multiplier + the America Votes Action Fund
This fund supports organizing in five NY House districts won by Biden/Harris in 2020 + currently represented by Republicans. The target districts are on Long Island, in the Hudson Valley + in upstate NY. (districts 03, 04, 17, 19, 22)
PROGRAM: The partners we support in New York run voter engagement programs using the core mobilization tactics of canvassing, phone + mail, as well as expanding into tactics like site-based + relational programs, BIPOC-focused media, events + other impactful ways to engage with voters.
Organizers will be reaching out to registered Dems who voted in ‘20 but not ‘22, new registrants, Black, Latino + AAPI voters who live with registered Dems. The early stages will focus on voter registration, accountability, voter education on congress members and capacity building. The second phase will be focused on proactive actions to mobilize Democratic voters.
FIELD PARTNERS: Battleground New York: Battleground NY is a coalition working to carry out the largest field campaign in New York history. The coalition includes 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, the Communications Workers of America District 1, Indivisible, Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts + the Working Families Party. The operation focuses on establishing a robust, door-to-door canvassing operation + works to build long-term progressive infrastructure in New York.
NEW YORK CIVIC ENGAGEMENT TABLE: The New York Civic Engagement Table (NYCET) builds power with communities of color, immigrants, poor + working people to tackle racial + economic inequality in New York. NYCET fosters a culture of innovation + creativity by piloting + implementing tools, tactics + organizing strategies. Through their seamless + continuous coordination of electoral, base-building, issue advocacy + mass engagement strategies, they work to create a better democracy. The New York Civic Engagement Table will act as an AV affiliate table to coordinate in-state + national interests.
NEW YORK LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS: NYLCV is a statewide environmental organization in New York that fights for clean water, clean air, renewable energy + open space through political action. They are non-partisan, pragmatic, + effective. NYLCV has run a robust program evaluating the performance of elected officials, endorsing candidates who care about the environment + campaigning for the passage of pro-environmental laws + candidates. New York LCV will be an anchor partner in the coalition's effort to engage + mobilize voters across the Empire State.
UNITE HERE! LOCAL 100: UNITE HERE! Local 100 is the union for food service + restaurant workers throughout New York City, Westchester, Long Island + New Jersey. UNITE HERE's NY-03 special election canvass program has already knocked on more than 35,000 doors. They are a critical partner in the effort to engage key voters in targeted congressional districts in New York.
