Our Story

We founded Force Multiplier in 2017 in response to the authoritarian threats posed by the first Trump administration. Today, we are responding to the current administration’s  unprecedented power grab.

We have grown from a Boston-area group of 12 to a national network of over 13,000 donors who have collectively contributed over $31 million to save democracy. Their contributions have helped elect 35  current members of the House and 11 current members of the Senate.

 

Since the 2024 elections, we have broadened our strategy from primarily helping elect candidates to include support for groups working to fight autocracy through litigation, halting election interference, and establishing an online media presence that amplifies pro-democracy and fact-based content to educate, mobilize, and engage voters.

Taken together, our work is laser focused on winning the ’26 midterms—the key  to reversing the slide towards authoritarianism.​
