Protect Elections Locally in Critical States

3 smiling people holding signs saying compassion, the environment and democracy

As part of Force Multiplier’s strategy to fight autocracy and protect free and fair elections, we are raising funds so the North Carolina and the Iowa Democratic Parties can to hire full-time election protection staff.

There are two groups in this fund:

IOWA DEMOCRATIC PARTY
Iowa has a Republican Governor, attorney general, secretary of state, a Republican-controlled legislature, and Republican oversight of elections. However, under state law, both state parties have a unique role in election protection and voter protection.

The Iowa Democratic Party is successfully developing collaborative relationships with state and local election officials and using those relationships to proactively expand voter access and resolve large-scale election issues. Force Multiplier is raising money to fund an election protection staff member to work with volunteers and staff to ensure that all voters can vote, their votes are counted, and they are certified. This work supports a fair election process for the two House challengers in Iowa who are on Force Multiplier’s slate.

NORTH CAROLINA DEMOCRATIC PARTY

The North Carolina Democratic Party needs a second election protection worker, now that the Republican legislature has decentralized election administration in more than 100, mostly Republican-controlled, county election boards. Former Governor Roy Cooper is running for the Senate, and Representative Don Davis (NC 01) is fighting to hold his House seat, after it was gerrymandered by the Republican legislature.
