Resistance
Force Multiplier recommends these non-violent actions of resistance:

-
Sign up for Chop Wood/Carry Water, a substack by activist Jess Craven that includes up to date daily recommendations for actions you can take.
-
Use Mobilize, a comprehensive website where you can find actions such as demonstrations, letter writing, phone banking and door-knocking to counter authoritarianism, support Democratic candidates and stand up for your neighbors . TO SEARCH: click on “Filters” at the top.
-
Connect to an Indivisible group near you.
-
Build a neighborhood team. We can see the strength of local organizing in the ways the people of Chicago, Minneapolis/St Paul, Portland and Lewiston Maine have come together in recent weeks.
-
Talk to people while they are shoveling, going to the market or walking dogs.
-
Use these conversations to form a team of people who would be willing to take action together, to support neighbors when ICE comes to town or to mobilize for the next No Kings protest.
-
Become visible in your neighborhood. One possible local action: Go outside every night with a candle for ~15 mins. If you like singing, Sing “This Little Light of Mine”.
-
Resist ICE and support our neighbors!
All of us are appalled by the broad pattern of unchecked violence and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies. Over 35 people have died in ICE custody since Trump took office, 2 people protesting their actions have been murdered, 328,000 have been arrested and 327,000 have been deported.
Below are some national, regional and local actions you can take to defend your communities and support your neighbors:

Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest regions
-
“Boycott Citizens”: A grassroots effort seeks to force Citizens Bank to stop financing the two major private prison/detention center companies—CoreCivic and the GEO group. The bank operates in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and also serves Delaware, Florida, Maryland, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington D.C.
Eastern MA

Standouts at the ICE detention facility
These are non-violent protests to express support for immigrants, and to bear witness to the cruel actions of ICE and the unconstitutional actions of our government.
1000 District Avenue, Burlington, MA 11AM to 1 PM
Here are links for the groups organizing these actions:
Wednesday: Organized by Bearing Witness New England
Thursday: Justice for All Thursday Greater Assabet Indivisible Network (GAIN)
Saturday: No Fear Street Theater Boston

-
De-ICE Hanscom: Weekly Friday afternoon protests at Hanscom Airfield in the western suburbs of Boston, led by a coalition of groups, raise awareness of deportation flights ICE operates there. The group also organizes attendance and public comments at every public meeting of the Massport Board, which governs all airports in the Commonwealth, to apply pressure to those in power. With over 100 attending the November meeting, Board members noticed!

Greater Boston Area
-
Mutual Aid: Chelsea, Massachusetts is a predominantly Latino community heavily targeted by ICE. Activist Evenings, working alongside several churches and synagogues in Brookline/Boston, helps organize a steady stream of volunteers to work with LaColaborativa to deliver food to immigrants who have justified fears of leaving their houses.
Your community likely has similar efforts. You can find out about some through Mobilize, your local Indivisible chapter, through word-of-mouth, or by contacting local immigrant advocacy organizations.
