Paige Cognetti (PA 08) has been the mayor of Scranton since 2020 and has significantly improved its economy and bond rating. Her opponent won his seat in 2024 by 51% in a district Trump carried by 54%, and is facing criticism of the timing and frequency of over some 600 questionable stock transactions. The race is rated a toss up and is a flip opportunity.
Janelle Stelson (PA 10) is a high profile, award–winning news anchor and investigative journalist with a deep understanding of the issues facing the district. She lost by a slim 1.2% to the same opponent in 2024. The race is rated a toss up and is also a flip opportunity.
Rebecca Cooke (WI 03) grew up working on her family's dairy farm. She founded The Red-Letter Grant in support of women entrepreneurs and has served on the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. She lost by only 2.7% to the same opponent in 2024. This toss up race is also considered a flip opportunity.
These three candidates are all challenging Republican incumbents in what are expected to be some of the closest House races in the nation. Their races will help determine which party is in the majority.
