Meet two tax-advantaged non-profit organizations working to counter election interference across the country: The Partnership for Large Election Jurisdictions (PLEJ) is composed of Democratic and Republican election administrators from 143 large election jurisdictions across 34 states where an estimated 75% of all voters cast their ballots. PLEJ is committed to administering free and fair elections under unprecedented personal and professional pressure – including targeted misinformation campaigns, personal threats, and budget constraints. PLEJ helps administrators prepare for the possibility of true election sabotage while simultaneously planning for a high-turnout election. Our speaker: Carolina Lopez is Executive Director at PLEJ. She has extensive experience administering elections and has built broad national and in-state relationships and coalitions to guide legislative advocacy and shape election protection programs. National Coalition of Groups for Election Protection is a large, national network of state and national non-partisan groups working to protect our elections. Focusing on communities most targeted by voter suppression and election subversion, the coalition accelerates national strategies to counter sabotage at scale, delivers national resources to state coalitions, and facilitates strategic alignment and best practices to protect free and fair elections. The hundreds of groups in the coalition are organized into working groups prepared to act swiftly and decisively. Democracy Defenders Fund is a leading partner of the coalition, guiding and housing the operations of three domains: communications, mobilization, and litigation. Our speaker: Susan Corke is Executive Director of Democracy Defenders Fund. She is a seasoned human rights advocate and former diplomat with more than 20 years experience defending democratic institutions globally.

We can—and Must—Win a Democratic Majority in the House

Let’s make Congress a co-equal branch of government again.

Force Multiplier presents House candidates:

  • Christina Bohannan (IA 01),

  • Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (TX 34), and

  • former Rep. Elaine Luria (VA 02)

Monday, April 6, 7-8 pm ET

on Zoom

Especially this year, the sooner candidates are supported the more likely they will be able to win. All three candidates are in very tight races and must win in November. Christina Bohannan (IA 01) is a law professor and former engineer who served as an Iowa State Representative from 2021 to 2023. She ran for Congress in 2022 and ran again in 2024. With Donald Trump at the top of the ticket, Bohannan lost by just 799 votes in one of the closest races in the country. Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (TX 34) was first elected in 2016 to represent the 15th Congressional District of Texas, which he represented until 2022. Due to ultra partisan gerrymandering in Texas after the 2020 Census, he was drawn into the 34th Congressional District, which he has represented since 2023. In 2024, Rep. Gonzalez won by 2.6% - just 5,000 votes — despite being outspent by his opponent.  Gonzalez was an attorney in private practice prior to his election to Congress. Elaine Luria (VA 02) was a member of Congress from 2018 to 2023. She was Vice Chair of the House Armed Services Committee and one of the original members of the Jan. 6 Select Committee. She co-led the eighth public hearing in July 2022, after which she lost her House seat by 3.4%. Prior to her time in Congress, Luria served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. where she rose to the rank of Commander.
