BACKGROUND + EXPERIENCE
Min was born to South Korean immigrants in Providence, RI, + was raised in Palo Alto, CA. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in Economics + Philosophy + from Harvard Law School. Min worked in financial regulation as a staff attorney at the U.S. Securities + Exchange Commission, Banking Committee counsel for Senator Chuck Schumer + was a member of the California State Legislature from 2020 to 2024. In 2024, Min was elected to the US House of Representatives, representing California’s 47th congressional district, Orange County.
Min is married to Jane Stoever, a clinical professor of law at UC Irvine. She works on domestic violence issues. They have three children.

POLITICS IN ORANGE COUNTY
California’s 47th district leans Democrat. Cook gives it a D+3 rating. Irvine is heavily Democratic, coastal Huntington Beach + Newport Beach lean Republican. There is a large Korean American community: 19% of citizens are Asian + Pacific Islander. Min won the 2024 election with 51.4% of the vote. Democrats have represented this district in Congress since 2002, but elections for in-State positions have swung back + forth. Democrats have consistently won the presidential elections, with the exception of the Romney vote 54%-46%. Harris won 50%-46%, Biden 54%-43%.
