Maine Senate Race

Primary June 9

Maine Governor Janet Mills and oysterman veteran Graham Platner are running to be the Democratic nominee in the Maine Senate race. Whoever wins will have to beat Republican Susan Collins who has represented Maine in the Senate since 1997 and is currently serving her fifth term. She is one of the longest-serving Republican women in Senate history. In the 2020 Senate election, Collins defeated Sara Gideon by 8.5%.

The general election race is rated toss up by both Cook Political Report and Sabato’s Crystal Ball.
